[There's children's laughter in the air.]

[The camera is resting on a hastily discarded backpack that's laying on the beach. The view is aiming upward slightly, so that the white sand is hardly visible. In the distance, silhoutted against the clear blue sky, are two figures that look vaguely like angels. They take turns folding their white wings, diving toward the dark blue water and disappearing into the waves, emerging a second later, wings beating and water spraying upwards.]

[Dive bombing at it's finest. Elaine and Angel are out on this fine, windy day, enjoying one of the reasons why it's great to fly. The hair of both the girls cling to their faces, and their swimsuits and wings are completely soaked and heavy, but they're laughing at their own antics.]

[They continue to dive and fly, unaware of the camera that's recording them, until the film times out.]

[Climbing higher into the skies, until she hits the barrier, and then looking down at Elaine.]

How far can we go?

Mm, it's hard to say. Although that's about the highest I've been able to go, too.

[She grins up at the other girl, her hand shielding her eyes from the sun. Not that she uses her blind eyes to see technically, but... old habits die hard.]

Are you going to dive from all the way up there?

I'm not sure if my bones can take it. [There's a thoughtful frown on her face.] Normally it works, and injuries heal even faster here than they do normally, but...

It's probably better to not risk it? [No need to spoil the fun with an injury, in any case.]

[She drops down a bit, catches herself, and then dives. And doesn't rise to the surface again.]

[The water is too dark, and the waves a little too strong, for Elaine to be able to see where Angel went. But she starts conting under her breath, timing the other girl's ability to hold her breath.]

[Thirty seconds... Elaine frowns. It's unusual that Angel hasn't even started floating yet. It's salt water after all, which carries people more easily.]

[Forty-five seconds. That's odd, to say the least. Elaine hadn't realized how good Angel was at things like this. She scans the surface of the water again, but there's still no sign of any blond hair.]

[One minute. Shit shit shit. Elaine pulls her wings close to her body and dives as quickly as she can manage. Hitting the water is actually painful because of the speed she's going at, but she puts aside the numb feeling in her nerves. She looks around, underwater, her hair floating around her head. She's jerking her head left and right, trying to find the other girl, trying to see anything, but all she can see is some coral and fish.]

[My god, Angel, where are you!? There's panic in the thoughts Elaine sends out, trying to reach Angel. The current pulls her father away from the shore. Could it have swept away the younger girl? What happened when people went too far out? Was there a barrier too? Was there some sort of danger? Angel, answer me, dammit! Elaine's own breath is starting to run out, but she prolongs returning to the surface, still looking for any sign of Angel.]
