[Minato glanced around at the burned trees, the smoke, everything that had apparently been affected by something she had done. Something with fire. But he thought he would soon find out.]

As long as we attack and not hold back, it should be fine.

[Or considered passable as a fight by Wonderland's standards.]

...I- [She said she would do this.] Just like that? Just... attack you? Shouldn't you... [She's upset, rambling.] Call me names first? Taunt me? Treat me like a child?

Minato, I can make planets. [She looks him straight in the eye, still breathing hard.]

[Minato shook his head. He knew he would be fine, he had to be. He didn't have a reason to do any of what she had said, nor would he have dreamed of doing so. He looked back at her and gave her a smile.]

It'll be okay. I promise.

[Making them might not be the same as saving them, but he trusted her and in his Personae.]

We don't have much time.

[She inhaled sharply, then slowly took some steps back. Her eyes shut tight, she raised her hands toward him. Like another day of practice, just imagining he wasn't there.] Three. Two. [She gritted her teeth. There was a longer pause between two and one, as she inhaled sharply again, still not opening her eyes.] One.

[With a jerk she let out energy, raw power, sending a blast in the direction she was facing.]

[Her hands up like that definitely looked like an offensive stance, and Minato backed away from her, just to have enough room to dodge whatever it was she was going to send his way.

What was that blast anyway and how did she do that? But Minato didn't have much time to ponder about it as he had to jump and dash off to the side out of the line of fire. He didn't go unscathed though as the power pummeled its way past him and singed parts of his left side that hadn't made it, such as his left leg. But his Persona Messiah was Regenerating some health for him in the meantime.

He regained his balance, getting on his feet again, though leaning more of it on his right side. It hadn't been too bad, and he gave her a nod indicating he was all right.

With that, he removed his Evoker from his holster, and readied it at his head. Once she opened her eyes, he pulled the trigger and summoned Messiah to attack with Niflheim, a powerful Ice spell that would create a decent-sized glacier around her. He hoped she could dodge, or if she could pull off another blast, he thought it would probably rip through and melt the ice without a problem before the ice surrounded her.]

[She almost screamed when she saw him put the gun to his head, but the sound died in her throat at the appearance of the Persona. The surprise of finally seeing how he fought held her still, and she neither dodged nor deflected the ice.]

[She could feel the sweat on her skin freeze as the glacier formed, could feel the blood draining from her lips. But the demiurgic power is the power that builds and breaks; if she had an element, which she didn't, it would have been fire above all the others, because fire was both the big bang and armageddon.]

[The heat built so suddenly that the glacier didn't melt, but burst, skipping liquid and turning straight to gas in the intensity. A shockwave rolled out from where she stood, shivering. It came in a roar of sound that shred bark and plowed dirt.]

[Minato had anticipated some sort of deflection of his attack, but not to that degree. The ground underneath him shook from the shockwave, and the attack had almost had what was like a reflect effect back to him. It was deafening, the sound ringing in his ears. So this is part of the power that created planets...

Immediately he had to protect himself as he raised his hands and arms up to block any other shards of the bark and other flying debris heading in his direction. He shut his eyes to keep from the dirt and dust from getting into them too.

It was all around him, and he had to fight back. He focused, eyes still shut but knowing in general where Elaine had been standing, and brought the Evoker back up to his head. He switched Personae to Thanatos who was armed with Panta Rhei, and just like Niflheim had been the most powerful single-enemy Ice spell from his world, Panta Rhei was its wind equivalent. The greenish and white winds spiraled like a vertical funnel and tornado toward her, his attempt to push back against that wave of power and the pieces of earth and flora coming toward him.]

[What the hell were those things he kept doing, and why did he keep putting that gun to his head? Elaine still felt confused, disoriented, having never fought before like this. At least her power rose readily at her command, easily controlled, unlike when she had first arrived in Wonderland.]

[The tornado pulled at her, and did effectively stop the rush of air from her shockwave. She was unsure how to fight somthing like that. Maybe she had to hide from it, but they were in a clearing, and... She had to go by instinct. The ground in front of her shook for a moment as though on a sieve, then exploded upward. The pillar of dirt rose from an explosion she set off in the ground, rising up higher and higher at an amazing speed, to match the height of the wind attack. As it did, she spread her wings and soared up with it. And when it was tall enough she let it fall like a tidal wave, gigantic, toward both the tornado and Minato.]

[She was getting tired of trading blows, not physically but mentally, a headache creeping its way in. If this fight was to be anything humane at all, she had to end it quickly. But how?]

[Minato remembered that she could fly. He was reminded again of that when she took to the air and manipulated that column of dirt that erupted out of the ground. Not completely unexpected, but seeing it was still rather shocking, let alone the deadly wave that was directed toward him.

Nothing in his arsenal could prepare him for that, other than summon two of his Personae at once for a Fusion Spell to cast Infinity and give himself Invulnerability, but who knew if that would work against this new attack, and he didn't have time to summon them at all. Instead, all he could do to protect himself again and not get himself killed was mentally switch Personae to Orpheus Telos and not summon it, only to give himself some resistance to physical attacks.

The wave hit the ground as he retreated, and he ended up caught in the aftermath of the impact of all that dust and dirt that rose again, telling himself and Orpheus Telos to withstand the attack, his arms up over his face to shield it. It took everything he had to stay on his feet, staggering and almost being knocked over.

If Elaine wanted the fight to end, it was probably in a few moments as the world settled and quieted again. He carefully lowered his arms and put his Evoker back in its holster. Ow. Okay, that went pretty well considering he was no match for her power. With a nod, he gave in, impressed with what she had accomplished. Once she got her candy, he would heal.]

[She lowered slowly next to him, her lips still blue, shivering. With a glance she took in his bruises, shocked she'd done such a thing, although she knew that she had. Surveying the damage was surprising too: all the upturned dirt and destroyed trees, the frozen grass. It was several gasps of breath before she could speak.]

I can heal you.

[With a tinge of embarrassment she realized that maybe she had overreacted about the whole fighting thing. Minato didn't even look as tired as she felt. And neither of them had gotten very hurt... She grinned at him, the rush of this realization and the adrenaline still in her body making her giddy.]

[That Cat should be along to give her candy soon enough. Minato saw that grin, and smiled back gently, understanding that the fight had to take place. He did volunteer for it, and was glad to do so since it was to help his friend. He might not have been as tired, but still, he did need to take care of his injuries, and hers as well. He shook his head, not wanting to trouble her.]

It's okay... I can. It'll heal you too.

[With that, he removed his Evoker once more, and mentally switched back to Messiah since it had Salvation, his best healing spell that also removed status ailments. He summoned his Persona once more to have it cast the healing spell on the both of them, the spell enveloping them in light for a brief moment before the light and his Persona disappeared.]

[The light of the spell left behind a cat's grin that faded a second later as well. Elaine already had the candy in hand. She smiled up at Minato and then quickly ate it.]

[She stretched her wings, her arms, feeling fresh without her bruises. As her wings faded out of sight, the sickly, weakened feeling of the poison left as well.]

[She sighed.] That's better. [Her eyes fell to his Evoker.] I would have gone for your gun next. It seemed like you need it...

Mn, I'm glad.

[Minato was relieved that she was fine now. He nodded, agreeing with her that he did need it. It really did look like a gun, and it was the easiest way to describe it. His hand instinctively rested on the Evoker's handle as it sat in its holster, though he might not have been so protective of it otherwise. It took a lot of trouble to get this second one after his first one was stolen.]

... I do. I can't summon without it.

Your power is impressive too, Elaine.

[She shrugged, then sank to the ground, taking in the damage in the clearing.] I'm sorry about that. I've never fought like this before. I think I... could have done more. [Another sigh, because the adrenaline was draining out and she just felt tired.]

[The demiurgic power made the big bang. Of course she could have done more... that was the entire problem. The entire reason she made Mhairi and always got into trouble with her mirror. Because her mirror had that power too.]

What do you summon?

[Seeing that she was much more exhausted than he was, he stayed nearby in case she needed any help. Her question was fair. She had never seen him fight before either.]

Persona. [Or Personae in the plural in his case.] They help me when I need it.

[Nodding vaguely, she stretched out her hand so he could help her up.] It's tiring. Contolling it this way.

Okay. So what are they? How did you meet them?

[And of course he helped her up, making sure she was stable once on her feet.] That isn't all of your power, is it?

[How did he meet them? He had never really been asked that before. But again, a valid question, and in some way, he did consider his Personae to be something like friends. They were always with him. How to explain this?]

They're part of my soul. Parts of the self that protect me.

Not really. The problem is more about controlling it than actually making it. [She was steady. With a tilt of the head she set of toward the Mansion.]

[He shook his head at that. He thought that was kind of her to say though.]

[Minato smiled. Really, it had been literally. He heard all his friends' voices for that battle at home. It might have worked the same way here too.]

[She actually stops and turns to look at him as the reach the Mansion doors. Though she's still slightly pale and breathing hard, she smiles.] Thanks.
