[Despite the fact that the video just comes on, it's easy to feel the sheer amount of panic coming through the screen. The camera is jostled several times, until it shows Elaine kneeling in front of it, submerged in a kaleidoscope of colors. All around her are glowing orbs. Green ones, blue ones, orange, all of them spinning rapidly. More appear by the second. Too many. The space in her room is rapidly growing smaller.]

It's... too many, could someone...

Just help me... [She bows her head, hands to her temples, trying to fight back the gigantic migraine working its way into her system.] I don't want to know. I don't!

[And in her fit of panic, she does something that will take her quite a while to recover from.] Would you kindly come here!

[She shivers, knowing that she's crossed a line.]

[[Longish OOC note: Tie, this is kinda different from what we talked briefly about... please tell me if it's not okay, and I'll change it. Sorry to everyone for being so slow. :\ I don't have internet at home. Okay, so Elaine's fear is basically being omniscient (in this case she can feel everything happening on all of those planets). Of course she won't be reading your mind or knowing what you're doing without your permission, but if you want that to happen please ask me. Either way, feel free to reply! :P And, uhm, if you guys want your own character to have omniscience for what's left of the event, then it's mostly the whole "finding out what people actually think of you" and stuff like that. Stuff your charcters generally don't want to know. :)]]

[The sound comes out of the nearest comm at a shout, and Jack's head snaps up, so taken by the force of the command that his mind doesn't have time to rationalize it as something he wants to do. It comes as a panicky need, so deep in his brain that he can hardly breathe until he wrenches himself around and runs for Elaine's room at top speed.]

[He'll find her still kneeling in her room. He'll have to work his way between all those planets to get to her. Unfortunately, any one that he touches will die. Still hugging herself, Elaine doesn't even notice that he's arrived.]

[Liet didn't recognize him, and going into random rooms to hide seems like a patently bad idea after running into Kayako, but Elaine...]

[I-It's not like he's worried about her or anything, even though he totally is, it's just that he needs somewhere to hide and she might be willing to help him. She's helped him a lot before, right? So he makes his way up to her room, knocking timidly on the door while glancing around to make sure he hasn't been followed.]

[He doesn't have anywhere else to run, and it's awkward and painful to talk to her after all that's transpired between them, but he's frightened, rejected by his husband, pursued by those who would harm them, and he needs to go somewhere.]

[Actually I was so interested in Rei that I read the plot summary. Heee.]

[Pressure builds inside his head, and she talks through telepathy.] Your... history is Polish, but you... [She can read his mind so she knows he's Poland. But... But she also feels that he isn't Poland. She's sure.]

[Poland feels very tempted to cry. First Liet, and now Elaine's accusing him of not being him in his own head?]

[...Fuck, all that shouting got the soldiers' attention! One peers around the corner, and soon there's a row of them coming down the hall at him. Grabbing the gun he got from the closet in Kayako's room, he begins trying to retreat, shooting to slow them down.]

[Well, hell, it's all messed up anyway. And since she can read his head, she knows how much he cares. And she can feel the soldiers walking down the hall toward him.]

[She's Elaine, dammit.]

[The soldiers stop, as though surprised. Then, one by one, they start to collapse onto the ground, shock passing over their expressions, then their eyes rolling back into their heads. They lay in the carpeted hall, lifeless.]

Go away. Just go. I'm not... I can't... There are too many minds close to me. I don't want to know what you're thinking, so just go away!

[Poland just stands there in shock, not fully processing what just happened.]

[And the shock spreads to her. Just like the thoughts that had been going through the Nazis' heads. She feels disgusted at what they had been thinking.]

[So yeah, awkward silence. She feels horrible too, because for once she can see who she is from Poland's point of view. Tattered friendship, and maybe that sense of betrayal that she had chosen Lucifer over him.]

[Yeah, that's about the size of it, and then some. Trust given despite his usual fear of new people, and broken in what seems like a heartbeat's time to him. Sorrow and fear for her sake, believing what he does about God and Lucifer and Heaven and Hell. Abandonment, betrayal, the things he fears the most. An open wound that he wants so badly to fix, and just never knows how...]

[He swallows, then starts to run away, stumbling slightly. He doesn't know where he'll go--no one will take him in--but he has to run, because here doesn't feel safe, either.]

Still, there's something kind of repugnant about being called by another person's name, so it's a moment before she replies.]

Instrumentality. [Hell, she doesn't even know what that means. She'd picked the word out of Rei's head, but it seemed correct. She could feel Rei's thoughts and emotions and history, she hear Rei's stare and smell her heartbeat. She sifts through her thoughts to find what Instrumentality means... and she's appalled.]
