Why is that?

Boredom, probably. I almost wish I had school again.

...I seem to recall we were step-siblings during the event.

Yeah, school wasn't so bad.

Yeah, I think so. Heh, I guess that was appropriate.

I don't think we were learning so much then, but it was fun.

Yeah. It was nice. I don't know why so many people disliked it.

I thought it was fun. Um, the event, not school. School was kind of boring, but at least it was normal. [He laughs a little. He sounds tired.] But the event was nice. It's been awhile since I had family like that.

Yes. It was normal. [That makes her grin.] Me too! I think you should be able to choose your family. Which is why I'll always look out for you.

Same for you, Elaine.

The Deadmen were kind of like family after awhile. Sometimes. But...a really dysfunctional family that might kill you if you pissed them off.

That sounds familiar. [She shrugs.] ...Actually, that sounds like a lot of the people here.

...Yeah. The end of the event was kind of like us at home.

What about your family at home, Elaine? What were they like?

[Her smile fades somewhat.] I have an uncle. And a father, but he... [And now her smile fades completely.] Died, a few seconds before I came here, to Wonderland. And I have a grandfather, but he left us. He left everyone.

[She make a face, almost like she's laughing.] Don't be like that, it's not your fault. For a while I had a somewhat normal family, and that's going to have to be enough, for me.

Besides, my uncle is pretty cool.

[[ooc edit: omg fail I just realized it's voice but whatever, it's okay even if he doesn't see her smiling and stuff. It shows in her voice.]]

I just-- [He stops and forces a slightly more cheerful tone.] Well, if you say so. I guess it's the same for me, too.

[ooc: Haha yeah, he's still probably beat up looking and he didn't want to worry her. Don't worry it though. |D]

[It makes her sad to hear that it's somewhat the same for him as well.] Do you ever miss home? You know, with all it's troubles and headaches?

I-- ...I guess it depends on which home you mean. But mostly, except for not having Shiro around, I like this place a lot better.

I miss my friend, too. And I really hope time doesn't pass back home. It'd mess up everything.

Hey... cheer up. The way I see it, time doesn't pass at all. You were here before, right? Well, I doubt your prison would've ignored the fact that you were gone for several months. And if they didn't mention anything about it to you, then time probably wasn't passing. Right?
