So who's this Mr. Bubbles? I was kind of surprised to find a girl named Cindy on her own. I'm taking care of her for now, but whoever this Mister Bubbles is... you had better come pick her up soon. I get the feeling that she really misses you.

In other news, it seems like the Mansion is getting a lot of newcomers. So let's try to help them feel at home, alright? It was really hard for me when I frist arrived, and it probably is for them, too.

What Cindy is is called a Little Sister. Dr. Lamb told me that Sinclair was helping someone who killed Sisters whenever he found them.

I don't know if it's true, but after he used the command, and a couple of things he said...I thought he was a friend, but now I'm not so sure.

What about Lamb? What do you know about her?

Only what Sinclair's told me. That she ruled Rapture after I left, that they...idolized me, because I had no free will. And she must have been creating Sisters--Cindy's too young to have been there when I was.

And that she tortured him and turned him into a monster.

But how much of what he says is true?

[Her expression becomes more shocked as he goes on.] They idolized a lack of free will? Mm...

What do you mean "creating"?

I guess we can't tell with Sinclair. [Her face falls.] I'm... I feel bad you had to live in a place like that, where you can't even trust anyone.

Finding or taking little girls and putting slugs in their bellies, programming them to suck blood from corpses. It's sick.

I know the part about turning him into a Big Daddy is true. She admitted it. She said it was to protect the girls, but if she was the one turning them into Sisters in the first place, she's not so much better.

[Sigh.]

I made it back to the surface. It was different there. If you can believe it, I was starting to get less jumpy.

That is... Cindy's like that? Why? Why would someone do that?

To make more ADAM. Everything in Rapture hinged on ADAM. It's a drug, and almost the entire city was hooked on it. It comes from the slugs, that's how the Little Sisters make more.

But she's different. She seems a little more human than the others. She still remembers her name.

ADAM? You've never mentioned that before. Are you and Sinclair...?

And speaking of Cindy... I have a favor to ask, and it's really, uhm, it's kind of a big favor.

Are we users? Yeah. These days, I use EVE--that's the sister drug to ADAM.

[Finger-snap, and his left fist is pierced through with spikes of ice.]

That's a plasmid. ADAM creates the plasmid in your body, and EVE fuels it.

[He listens, then nods, smiling a little and snapping his plasmid back off.]

You want me to take care of her. Sure, I'll do it, if she'll go with me.

[Elaine stares at the plasmid.] I can see why people would want to use it. But if you keep using EVE, then won't you get addicted?

I hope you don't mind. It's just that you're used to taking care of young girls, and you said that you have a bit of that smell that she likes. And I can take care of her any time that you're too busy.

[His smile is a little tight.] You could say I was born addicted, Elaine.

It's no trouble. I'll be right there.

[It's rather a lot of trouble, actually, but Jack's sentiment is genuine. And, after neatening himself up a little, he will appear at Elaine's room to collect Cindy.]

Oh. [She remembers the snippets of conversation they've had about his past.] Being born to do anything... being born into a destiny is a pain.

[So let's assume that Cindy is sleeping because I have yet to clear up the trade with Cindy-mun orz. Will get back on that.]

[Elaine opens the door and slips outside, closing it quietly behind her.] Hey.

Hey. She still here?

Yup, sound asleep. She's really burning through my energy fast. Not to mention I can't seem to get used to that strange voice of hers.

...She wants her crayons back from Sinclair.

Well...

[He digs in a pocket.]

Sinclair did tell me she needed new crayons. He wanted me to give her a puppy, too.
