It just feels like the rug keeps getting pulled out from under. I'm hearing two different things, and I don't know what to think.

The guy named Jack told me not to trust anyone from his world. But they can give us information that can help us to be cautious of them.

Sinclair said that Cindy used to be a little girl. That we can shut down the thing in her stomach. If we take it out it will kill her though. He said that Lamb made her what she is. That she's a 'little sister'. I'm trying to get more out of the two of them.

Be careful with her. The way she talks ... I think she's trying to break down our defenses. To manipulate us. Be careful. The closet could give her what she needs to make you into something like Cindy ... or make you what Sinclair called a 'big daddy'.

Of course, Sinclair is going to give only his side of the story. Just... well, don't go spreading rumours until you're sure. I'll try to find out a bit more too, and tell you about it.

What Cindy is is called a Little Sister. Dr. Lamb told me that Sinclair was helping someone who killed Sisters whenever he found them.

Everyone is going to give the side that makes them seem the least at fault. That's what people do. It doesn't make it wrong. I thought something was wrong with her on my own.

That sounds alright. I don't think anyone from her world would help her very much. They all seem to have something of their own they're after. If you can get anything from her ....

Only what Sinclair's told me. That she ruled Rapture after I left, that they...idolized me, because I had no free will. And she must have been creating Sisters--Cindy's too young to have been there when I was.

And that she tortured him and turned him into a monster.

But how much of what he says is true?

I guess we can't tell with Sinclair. [Her face falls.] I'm... I feel bad you had to live in a place like that, where you can't even trust anyone.

Finding or taking little girls and putting slugs in their bellies, programming them to suck blood from corpses. It's sick.

I know the part about turning him into a Big Daddy is true. She admitted it. She said it was to protect the girls, but if she was the one turning them into Sisters in the first place, she's not so much better.

[Sigh.]

I made it back to the surface. It was different there. If you can believe it, I was starting to get less jumpy.

Maybe. I knew people at home whose branch of sin could have done it, but they never did. So it might be harder than it seems.
