I think it's best to assume that the parts we're not sure about in the letters aren't true, until we can prove it either way.
[That doesn't really help with how bad she's feeling right now. Although she does give a smile, trying to hide her true feelings.] And yes, you're a good person. Don't worry about any of it too much.
