[The video activates to show Elaine sitting on a chair in her room, a hand over her mouth. It doesn't do much, and you can distinctly hear her singing this song (the song starts at around one minute in the video). There's also quite a bit of music in the air, including what appears to be the voices of a choir accompanying in her singing.]

[Her hand slams on the camera, as though attempting to turn it off, as she stares, wide-eyed. But after a pause where the feed doesn't turn off, she removes the hand from her mouth and grins, singing louder. Looks like someone is having fun! Her singing isn't bad, anyway.]

[Still grinning sheepishly, she dances to the music in an embarrassed sort of way until the video times out.]

You're from England, you said, right? We celebrate pretty differently in Japan.

Really? I thought it was the same everywhere that celebrated it.

I thought I'd play along. The Mansion really wants to have me sing publicly, I guess.

It's religious and you give gifts in the west, right? In Japan it's more for couples to go out on dates.

I ran into some tinsel earlier. I only just stopped glittering.

That's interesting. So, Ganta, you thinking of asking anyone out? [Grin.]

So that's what's been making people glitter. It was holly for me. There was some on my door.

Ah--! [He blushes, and looks away, flustered.] Well, there isn't really anyone... I'm just fourteen, so...

[Subject change. /o/] Ah, yes! And the Christmas lights make you glow in different colors too, and the wreathes tie people up. And...I'm pretty sure I can guess what the mistletoe does.

That's what I thought. [It's not obvious whether she's talking about his answer or how flustered he is. Although, her smile kind of answers that question.]

Mm. I wonder if the trees themselves do something.

I haven't noticed anything with the trees. I've been steering clear of all of the decorations since I've seen what some of them do.

That sounds like a good idea, but I am sort of tempted to go around and touch everything.

[He laughs.] It is tempting, just to see what'll happen.

Anything but the mistletoe.

Y-yeah. Of course.

I don't know what to get you for Christmas. Any suggestions? Or do you want it to be a surprise?

Oh! It's okay if you don't give me anything! It's not a big deal...

Well, I'd like to get you something anyway. It's not like I know a lot of people here yet, but I still want to be part of the festivities.

Um.... I need some more normal kinds of clothes, I guess. I'm trying to stop wearing my prison jumpsuit so much....

No problem! It's good you're getting out of that jumpsuit, too.

I just got used to wearing it...

Mm. There's nothing wrong with that though. Except it would be nice if you wore something colourful for the holiday.

Yeah, I guess so.
