Not really. But it makes me think that this is one of the afterlives. And dying to go to a plane of eternal torture is not an experience I want to repeat. I'm guessing it's some form of reincarnation?

I think a few of the people here are dead in their own worlds. But most of us were alive when we were brought here. I know I was, anyway. But when we die here, we're brought back to life after a day or two.

It's kind of a complicated story, but the short version is that I didn't take a drug I was supposed to take at specific intervals, and it killed me.

That's odd. I don't know what to think of the whole dying-and-coming-back-to-life thing, but at least it offers us some leeway.

Yeah, it takes some getting used to. But so do magic closets...

No. Until recently, I had to wear a collar that injected me with poison. The drug was the antidote.

Hmm. Why would you be wearing something like that? Although I'm glad that isn't the case now.

Oh, the closets here will give you things you need. You just have to think of what it is, and it appears inside.

I was in prison before I came here. The collar was used for identification and for carrying out my death sentence.

Castiel-san said not to trust anything the mansion gives for free. He has a good point, but I haven't seen anything bad happen because of it so far. It seems like the mansion would want to keep us happy and alive as long as possible, while it takes our memories.

Kite-san was able to do it for me, using a device he has.

It's in his nature, I think. How bad is the memory loss here?

It doesn't seem noticeable in anyone I've talked to. But I've heard about Alice, who was here so long she lost all her memories.

Deadman Wonderland is a theme park, kind of. The inmates from the prison take care of it and...provide the entertainment.

But it's really a front for experiments on people like me. We're the Deadmen. We have special powers called the branch of sin.

That's sort of sick.

I don't know. I went blind a few minutes before I was pulled here. It's a long story, but... I thought I'd have my sight back by now. I guess not. I can get around by "feeling" things with my mind, but that's about it, until I figure out another way to "see".

I have a confession, though. I may not look it, but I'm only twelve. So I guess I'm not old enough for the "-san" thing either. Heh.

Is it something that can be healed? I think there are a few healers here.
